On Sunday 2 November 2025, Stéphane Develter, founder and chairman of Develter Innovation, appeared as a guest on the programme “En roue libre” to discuss drowsiness at the wheel.
Alongside presenter Laurence Péraud and Pierre Chasseray, spokesperson for “40 millions d’automobilistes”, Stéphane Develter discussed a unique experiment carried out in August with the association’s teams to measure the effects of drowsiness on driving.
A behind-the-scenes look at an immersive prevention experience
During the programme, Stéphane Develter reflected on this immersive experience and the lessons he had learnt from it: fatigue leads to slower reaction times, reduced alertness and difficulty concentrating.
He also revealed the behind-the-scenes details of this extraordinary day. How was the experiment prepared? What protocols were put in place to ensure the reliability of the data? How did the participants find those six hours of uninterrupted driving? All these details demonstrate the rigour required to carry out such a study.
Throughout his presentation, Stéphane Develter highlighted the value of the simulator, a unique tool for measuring phenomena that everyone experiences but which cannot be analysed directly on the road.
The Develter simulator, a recognised tool for improving road safety
The appearance on the programme “En roue libre” confirms the growing prominence of the Develter Innovation simulator in the field of road safety. Increasingly sought after for research and prevention initiatives, it provides a safe and realistic environment for observing driving behaviour and raising awareness of the right reflexes.
Today, charities, research organisations and businesses use this educational tool to raise awareness of the dangers of the road, without ever putting drivers at risk.
