Interview with Yohann Berthe from Drive Innov

Another interview with our customers and partners. This week, Yohann Berthe, founder of Drive Innov, which he set up 10 years ago, shares his experience with our teams. His aim is to promote responsible mobility that is both ecological and economical, particularly through eco-driving.

What is Drive Innov?

We help individuals to obtain their driving licence by taking a fun approach to road safety. We specialise in helping people with learning disabilities in the broadest sense: dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, dysorthographia, but also autism spectrum disorders, mental retardation and certain physical disabilities. We also have an offer for people with ADHD, an often overlooked disorder.

On the B2B side, we support companies in their transition to electric mobility, internal road safety and environmentally-friendly practices. To do this, we use driving simulators, which are particularly well suited to meeting these needs.

Why did you choose Develter Innovation’s solutions?

I was looking for driving simulators that could go beyond initial training.

My aim was not to add another source of profitability, but to provide tools for more comprehensive training and preventive driving. The Develter Innovation simulator can be used to study and correct behaviour in dangerous driving situations. For example, a potential accident scene can be replayed to analyse errors and work on prevention.

Which Develter Innovation solutions do you use?

We use a number of Develter Innovation solutions, including :

• Eye tracking, a recent innovation that helps to measure information intake and the impact of distractors such as telephones.

• Simulators to train drivers to anticipate hazards in complex or dangerous environments.

• Measuring the pressure exerted on the brake pedal, essential for assessing the ability to resume driving after a stroke, for example.

These solutions meet our specific needs perfectly.

What did you like best about working with Develter Innovation?

What stands out above all is the human side of Stéphane Develter. He’s passionate about road safety and listens to the people he works with. He works with real values, which is very much to be appreciated. In terms of expertise, he’s clearly the best in the field of driving simulation.

Do you have any future projects with Develter Innovation?

Yes, we always have projects in progress or in the pipeline. For example, we have developed a microlearning platform for people with learning disabilities. We are likely to collaborate on other tools and technological developments in the future.

Any anecdotes to share?

When we first met Stéphane, we tested the simulator at his headquarters in Voisins-le-Bretonneux. My father, who has 40 years’ experience in traditional driving schools, was sceptical at first because of the price. But after the trial, he was convinced that it was the tool we needed. Since then, simulators have changed the way we approach driver training.
