Interview with Ludovic Bouhier, insurance professional and Develter solutions user

Today, Ludovic Bouhier looks back on his collaboration with Develter Innovation in the context of his professional projects, and shares with us a key project they carried out together.

Tell us about a project you carried out with Develter Innovation.

During one of my experiences in a brokerage firm, I was given the task of setting up a public passenger transport insurance policy. On this occasion, I realised that Develter Innovation driving simulators were ideal for enhancing driver training and improving their ability to avoid dangerous situations.

So we worked together to set up a mobile training facility. Using a bus equipped with a driving simulator, we were able to bring the trainers directly to the drivers, thereby limiting their exposure to risk.

What was it like working with Develter Innovation on this project?

Based on an existing simulation, we worked hand in hand with Develter Innovation to adapt it to our specific needs. As the majority of our drivers were school bus drivers, they travelled both inside and outside built-up areas. So we developed a whole section around the city bus, which didn’t yet exist.

Subsequently, Develter Innovation made other developments to further optimise the training and get as close as possible to the problems encountered in the field. In the end, we almost had a tailor-made simulation and training course!

What did you like the most about your experience with Develter?

The company’s approach to prevention and its ability to anticipate. This enables us to work in the interests of the community, to continually improve prevention tools and, ultimately, to avoid risky situations.

If the opportunity arose tomorrow, I wouldn’t hesitate. I will always propose Develter solutions to improve results and the claims rate in France and elsewhere.

Have you personally tested Develter solutions?

I was badly affected by Covid 4 years ago: 11 weeks in a coma, for a total of 4 months in intensive care. Despite this, when I got out of the hospital, in theory there was nothing to stop me getting back behind the wheel.

For me, this made no sense: before getting behind the wheel again, I wanted to be sure of my abilities. So I called Stéphane Develter and we did a test on the simulator. This enabled me to test my reflexes in a driving situation and reassure myself that I was capable of driving safely.

It’s something I did on a personal basis, and something I’d do again without any hesitation to make sure that driving doesn’t endanger other road users or myself.
